The company is known for its knowledge and experience in the design & testing of fire rated and acoustic door systems : ‘TimberCraft’ Frameless Fire Doors Systems, ‘INSULITE’ Aluminium Fire Doors and STC53 Acoustic rating Fire Doors.

Specialised ‘green’ components & state-of-the art door accessories are also created with its in-house research & development. As such, Polynorm is able to complement developers, architects and designers with its competence in this field.

Insulite / Timbercraft Frameless Fire Rated Doors By Polynorm is a system completed with a set of ironmongery and Fire Rated Components with Fire Ratings from 0.5hr to 4hrs. The Fire Rated Components are FEN® series and CERA series.

TimberCraft Frameless Fire Door System shall be obtained with approval from the relevant authority and tested to Singapore Standard 332:2007.

The whole configuration is to be tested and approved for multiple doors, single leaf, double leaf to open and swing in any combination/directions up to a span of 6 metres.

The system shall be installed in such a manner to have no frame, mullion or hinges visible when the doors are in the closed position.

The approval for timber door-set can be ½-hour, 1-hour or up to 2 hour.

This is a patented system and the main contractor is responsible to ensure compliance.

Door frame shall be of maximum 2.0mm thick L angle metal/aluminium frame profile, built into the masonry/concrete or held by ramset/expansion bolt. The frame shall consist of a plaster stop profile to prevent cracking and delamination of the plastering.

Door panel shall be of overall thickness of 45mmthk, insulated with ‘FEN’LITE core (a lightweight cement based solid core) complete with plain plywood on both sides.  The ‘FEN’LITE core shall have full thermal insulation and does not swell when exposed to moisture. The stiles of the door panel shall be ‘FEN’ stiles of which the material is rigid and does not twist or warp when pivots are used on the door panel and panel subject to varying temperature or moisture content.

TIMBERCRAFT FRAMELESS

Insulite

INSULITE™ thermal insulated aluminium fire rated door with FEN®lite core by Polynorm is tested with approval from relevant authority SS332:2007, BS 476 Part 22 and shall bear the SCDF Approved/Recognized Certification Laboratory Label for the frame and door.

Door leaf shall be flush and formed from 1.0/1.2mm thick aluminium sheet on both sides with nominal thickness of 42mm thick. It is constructed with aluminium sheet on all edges and hard edge trim all round.

Door leaf is to be filled with thermal insulated FEN®lite core which is an incombustible light weight core of density 400kg/m3. Besides thermal insulation, it has good sound reduction properties and shall be completed with internal reinforcement for locks, hinges and door closers.

Internal skeletons are extruded aluminium sections to take “π” lipping to form a strong box edge construction. The aluminium sections are infilled with ceramic binder to give a thermal break. This gives extreme rigidity and flatness to the door and has no warping and twisting.

Double leaf shall be of similar construction to single leaf and completed with rebated meeting stile. There shall be no visible astragal so as to give a flush and uncluttered outlook. Additional ironmongery preparation to include flush bolt provision and for the inactive leaf and the additional door closer reinforcement.

Doors to external area shall be sealed with gaskets all round and four sided frames (optional).

Door aluminium frame shall be in mitre joint and formed from 1.5mm thick aluminium bent sheet/1.8mm thick aluminium extrusion with a rebate depth of 20mm. All the visible corners of the aluminium frame shall have a maximum radius of 0.5mm so as to achieve a clean and sharp profile. Aluminium frame to be completed with gasket and preparation for hinges, door closers, locks and striker plate.

Finishes of aluminium frame and door can be pre-finished in powder coating, fluorocarbon, anodizing or etch primer to receive painting or laminate. The primer used shall be epoxy base so as to ensure better adhesion and as a good base for other finishes.
